The September issue of Classic Motorsports magazine found it's way to my
mailbox today. It has the road test comparison of a Fiat 124, a Sunbeam
Alpine, an Alfa Duetto, MGB, a TR4A, and a Datsun 1600. Unfortunately,
that's the order they finished in. The owners judged the cars and the
Datsun finished last in 9 out of 11 categories. When it came time for the
owners to rank the cars as they saw them, the Datsun owner ranked the MGB
first and his own 1600 last. This can only mean a couple of things:
A) They should have found a 2000 for the test.
and
B) They should have found a real Datsun owner for the test!
The magazines buyer's guide for the month is on Lotus Elans. Race reports
from Pebble Beach and Monterey. A nice write up on a BMW 2002 rally car and
a bunch of shorts on all kinds of old sports cars.
