Anybody with a few hours spare time, or a couple of days, and the desire
to take a FUN ride, try State Route 250. We picked it up yesterday just
over the Ohio River in Wheeling, WV and drove east down to Rt33 near Elkins,
WV. A couple of years ago we started in Waynesboro, Virginia and drove west
over the mountains to Elkins. At different times I have driven a long
stretch of it in Ohio. Ask Teddy Seidenfeld about the friendly Ohio State
Trooper that stops him every time he drives his 2000 over from PA to the
race barn!
Anyway, the road had good pavement and lots of little towns. Stopped in
Hundred, WV yesterday at the New Blues Restaurant for breakfast, great hot
cakes, good coffee, and friendly service. And yesterday they threw in a town
parade for free! And of course, the main thrill, some great mountain curves
and hills. Long sections are marked 'Senic'. Rated in CAR & DRIVERS top
ten roads in the USA. I look forward to the next time I have an excuse to
take the ride!
