Alright here are questions #2 and #3

I have a stroked 1600. When I built it I had no idea what I was doing. Now
I have a lot more of an idea. I am running the stock cam and carbs.

I have a set of 2L carbs and a manifold I would like to put on. I have seen
the carbs mounted on a 1600 manifold. Can I mount the entire carb and
manifold from the 2L on the 1600? Considering these carbs havent been run
in 20 years what should I do to get them in working order. What should I
look at? I dont have the time or money right now to have them rebuilt by
Keith although I would love to.

Ok next is the transmission. I like to take the car for rides back to my
parents house on the weekends. Unfortunately that is 1 hour on the PA
turnpike at 70 MPH. Which is about 3500 rpm in the 4 speed with the 3:90
rear. I have a 5 speed in a parts car. Now since this is a 66. What are
all the modifications that need to be done to make it fit. I know the
transmission mount is different. Has anyone over come this obstacle?

Finally anyone else out there running a stroker...what cam are you running?
I dont have the time to put the bigger valves in the head right now but
when I have the engine out to put the new tranny in I was thinking I would
put in a new cam. Do you run stock valve springs then? My car seems to
come out of the power band at 4200 rpms right now. I attribute this to the
car not breathing well and I think the cam and carbs will help. It also
could be I am at 6000 rpms and my tach isnt right too.

Once again thanks for the advice.
