Anybody think this is really bad idea? YES IMHO the oil pump bypass ALSO limits the load on the oil pump drive train / gears. I have not seen a broken drive assemble/gear on a U-20 but it not that unusual on Chevy's and fords .... I would shim it to ~ 75 lbs preload.
