<<Help! Finally getting my 68 2000 out of the garage after the long
Connecticut winter. Charged the battery, changed the oil, checked the
antifreeze, and she fired right up yesterday. Today I went out to take
my first ride of the year, and she quits as soon as I let go of the key.
Is there a way to check the switch without removing it from the car? Or
should I be looking elsewhere for the problem? >>
This may sound like a dumb answer, but did you check the fuse? That is my
latest problem I blow the ignition fuse within a few minutes after a cold
start, car dies. (left side of fuse box, 2nd one from bottom if I
remember) Generally I replace the fuse and it will run fine until another
cold start. I haven't had a chance to start looking for shorts. Can
anyone give me an idea where to start?
My amp gauge also takes a dive to the negative when I shift into reverse. at
least I know the switch does something. (it doesn't make the reverse light
go on, but it does something)
