I had the same problem with my 67 1600..
When I have a full tank of gas its fine ..but when it gets down to a half a
tank..it will
just die and will not start till the gas tank gets stirred up..like when its
being towed..
After the tow..it will start right up till the rust plugs the gas line again..
I had the gas tank boiled out and havent had any problems with it ever since.
So if the gas tank isnt that rusted..just have it boiled out and coated..
It wasnt that difficult to do...especially if you have someone like Francis to
help you..Francis made it look so easy..
Good Luck,
Raul

So, I need to know how to go about reconditioning my tank. I'm pretty sure
it's got
some funk in it. My car will bog down and die; I can blow back pressure
through the
line and it will clear it enough to run smoothly for awhile, then it will
happen again.
The guy that had it before me said he put a chain in the tank and shook it
around to
loosen up the crud, rinsed it out, then poured some type of solution in
that was supposed
to coat the inside of the tank (Pepto Bismol?)
Where should I go from here? New tank or just work on this one?
Does anybody have a good clean tank they want to sell?
Thanks!
