Allen,
if you got fluid coming out, you've got air going in. (remember holding your
finger over the end of a drinking straw? the fluid doesn't come out until
the air goes in) You need to check that the slave bleeder is the correct
threads (Metric vs SAE, also known as Roadster vs 510, but others can
clarify that??), as the wrong one won't seal, or will but will blow out
under pressure. This is true of brakes, but clutches may never build enough
pressure to blow, may just leak.
The ball bearing is in the front brake caliper bleeder only, not in the
rears and not in the clutch. If I remember right, you installed
Speedbleeders, at which point you no longer need the ball bearing, in fact
the Speed-B won't go in correct if you do leave it in.

Subject: Clutch issues again/bleeding
One lister stated that maybe there is supposed to be a ball bearing
underneath the bleeder screw.
Is that correct? I don't have one. Could that be my issue? (I also note
that my
slave does leak slightly from the bleeded screw threads no matter how tight
I tighten it). Allen 1970 2000
