I usually unscrew the existing snap part on the floor and reuse it (or another one) to screw the carpet down. Each side takes 4 screws and this holds the carpet securely to the floor. Then if you want to remove it you can remove the screws and the carpet comes up. Putting a jute pad under the carpet can be done this way if you use longer screws. Mike Koken Colo.
