tire plugging

Discount tire here in Phoenix uses an inside patch/plug combination. 
 They dismount the tire from the fim and pull the plug portion thru the 
hole and then glue the patch to the inside of the tire.  Thus sealing 
the hole and protecting the steel belt from water and making a bond with 
the carcass from the inside.  Or so they say.
