Howdy all you Roadster fans, nuts, and otherwise normal people:)

I think Sid and Mike both make good points. If Roadsters always sell
cheap, they will always be cheap. But, people have to be willing to pay the
price for them. Like most of you, I stuggle to get funds out of the family
budget to work on my Roadsters. The better half (bless her heart) thinks
these cars are just toys that I really don't need. I think a little
different - these "cars" are a big part of me!! Which comes to Mikes point
- as parts get NLA Roadsters will start to just sit. Right now I am faced
with a front end rebuild that is not in the "budget". So I may be forced
into building parts from scratch using common GM parts or like. In the long
term I can not build a Roadster from scratch as it wears out. I started my
custom as a future replacement for my '66 as it retires to the garage, but
even that is being set aside due to the cost of building it. Buying a 100
dollar part is like pulling teeth and frankly it is wearing me down. I
don't know the future of my custom. At this point it is causing a rift to
grow between Rhonda and myself. I think I will get the motor in and set it
in the corner until the "mood" changes. It is really breaking my heart, but
a happy family is much more important.

So, what to do.... Personnally I am looking for another new "Roadster" to
buy in the next year. Miatas are old hat, the new Z has possibilities, and
I like the new RX8 and G35c which both fit my needs very well. I WISH
Nissan would come out with a new Roadster. Not just a Z drop top, but a
true Roadster. So, I will start again with new and keep the Roadster for
SEROC runs. If and when parts become reasonnable for the Roadster I will
start rebuilding the '66.... or it will became an old sports car in the
garage with lots of great memories.

Geez, that sound too sad... On the upside, while I have my Roadster I will
drive it hard and come home with that great Roadster grin:) What I really
need right now is a good'o 180! Man, I wish I could get time off work
today. I would go home a get the '66 in the road.

Have a great day!

Phil
