The vin is not on the body, it is on the frame. On your frame, it will be on
the driver side forward. It is lightly stamped, so you will need to use
steel wool or something to find it. If you have no paperwork, you will need
to do a title search against the VIN on the frame.

Subject: No VIN... What can I do?
Date: Thu, 6 Mar 2003 10:24:19 -0800
I bought a Fairlady body (completely stripped) a couple years ago and in
my haste failed to get a badge or any paperwork. So very shortly I'll
have a beautiful 2000 SU without a VIN and no means of registration...
Is the VIN stamped anywhere? Should I just get another badge and attach
it? Any suggestions?
