If the head is still on you can take one of the pistons to the bottom of
its stroke and stuff a bunch of rope in through the spark plug hole. Turn
the engine over by hand until the piston comes up and packs the rope
against the head. This will lock the piston and crank so you can get the
flywheel bolts out.
