Hi Ivin,
there is not much to it is there?
Intake and exhaust clearance is 0.43mm (0.017") Hot or 0.525mm
(0.0207") Cold.
Measured between the face of the rocker and the tip of the valve stem.
"Whilst checking the clearance it is important to maintain pressure
with a screwdriver on the tappet adjusting screw to disperse the film
of oil from the push rod cup."
It has been a long time since I have adjusted tappets, but my advice
would be to set them cold with the engine not running with the spark
plugs out to ease the rotation of the crank.
Make sure the rocker arm is on the base circle of the cam for each
adjustment.
Good luck:)

Tomorrow I will begin to read through my manuals to review adjustment
of the
valves on a SPL-311.... 1600. Any suggestions, comments or guidance
would be
appreciated.
