44PHH really just means 44mm twin choke side draft. There at least two
completely different carbs that carry that designation. The Solex's I
have seen had no parts interchangeability with the Mikuni's I have.
They look similar but the Solex's had fixed chokes and pump jets, no jet
blocks (at least not removable). No interchangeability at all.

Subject: Mikuni vs. Solex 44PHH's and their differences
To List,
I have recently found a business that sells carb rebuild kits for the
44PHH's. However, this dealer said that his kits will only work for the
European Solex's and NOT the Japanese Mikuni 44PHH's. I was unaware
there
was a difference in the carbs. I know there is "early" style and
"later"
style, but between Solex's and Mikuni's I thought they were the same.
Can
anyone educate me?
