Thanks to this most excellent list and its archives, we got the old smog
distributor out of the '64 1600 and a spare one marked 6.5 installed without a
hitch. What a difference!! Len says the Roadster is much more responsive and
has a lot more power (I haven't driven it yet.) We took it on the freeway and
got up to 70MPH without so much as a stutter. The temp doesn't seem to go
quite as high either, hovering just under 190 unless we push it past 50-60MPH.
We suspect that the 1500 radiator is too small in its current state to handle
the 1600 engine. Does this sound plausible and if so, would recoring it to 3
or 4 rows help? We realized rather quickly that the larger 1600 radiator isn't
exactly a bolt-in part. What else could be causing it to heat up? We've got a
180deg thermostat currently installed, I used a candy thermometer to test it
and it appears to be working fine.

Thanks again!!!!
