Pam and I took that trip down to Deer Park today and I am pleased to
announce that there is a way to get there without any freeway driving! The
downside is if you are in a big hurry to get to the show, don't follow us.
The upside is, there is a lot of cool scenery, twisties and even a roadster
or two on the route we took down.
Let's plan to meet at 7:00AM on Saturday the 26th at Fashion Island shopping
Center in Newport Beach. We'll be in the parking lot in front of Robinson's
May towards the back so you can see us. Just enter Fashion Island at Newport
Center Drive off PCH. You should see us as you see the stores.
Roadster content, if needed: Pam spotted two roadsters parked in front of a
building on Grand Street down by Lake Elsinore. A sign spray painted on the
back of a beat up trailer nearby said 'We are watching you leave or die!' We
figured they were serious! Pam took a few pics of the cars. One of them
appeared to be a half year, either painted orange, or badly faded red from
the summer sun. No rear end, but it did have headrests on the seats and a
flat dash. The other lawn ornament was was rusty white. No seats at all in
this one. We posted pics on Picturetrail under Pamela's 1600. They are the
last 3 photos in the album.
