A friend just put a 302 with header, ignition, and alum heads in his
tiger. OH MY GOD is it fast. So much torque you can start the car in
4th gear from a stop. It is the fastest thing I have driven by far.

I hope to be able to just keep him in site until the corners after the
SR conversion in my car.

It is for sale in Portland, OR.

Cheers,
Daniel @ NOWROC

Dave,

With the advent of aluminum heads, you can build a screamer. Get a 289
or
302, put the alloy heads on it, alloy intake and tube shorty headers and
it
will fit into a Roadster. Weight gain is slight, and if you shove it
back,
the balance won't be all that bad. Put a T5 transmission behind it and
you
will have a Japanese Tiger that will handle as well.

Not that I have not considered it too much.....

Sid
