Seats frame primer/paint questions

my dad and i are working on a 1970 datsun 1600 and it has been sitting in our 
gargae for about 15 years we have taken everything off the engine but have not 
pulled it yet. and now i am looking for help on what to do know and what else i 
need to do. also about the brakes is it better to repair the ones on there or 
replace the whole brake system? any help is appriciated thanks
