I got it!!! Off that is. It has a tapered sleeve in the sprocket. With the puller and brass hammer I was able to move it back a couple of thou. I then then hit it ahead and presto. I must say it was tough and I've worked on some tough ones eg many a Mini (austin that is). The pistons are flat tops. I thought they were supposed to be dished.
