well thx to datsunmike I have the car idling pretty good although it needs a
little more attention. it runs on after I cut the ignition off. what usually
causes this?
I was getting ready to take the car for a test run. I went into the house
for my wallet and as I walked out of the garage I noticed a dinner plate
sized oil pool under the engine. during the carb adjustment I noticed that
oil was leaking from the front corner on the driver side of the valve cover
gasket. I tightened the two bolts down and it stopped. hopefully it was run
off from there getting to the floor although I cannot seem to find its
course. with the engine running the drip increased a little however there
may be excess somewhere and the engine wiggling may be causing it to drip. I
had the engine running for about 30 minutes during the carb adjustment. when
I look under the vehicle the drip is running down the tranny where it meets
the engine. I hope this is not a rear seal problem. it did not have this
problem last night when I was playing with it for several hours. I checked
the stick and it showed good but I did it with the engine still hot. so im
waiting a few minutes to check it again.
any comments, prayers, etc?
thx,
mike in las vegas
