Contact Z therapy. That is a very common problem on SU's. The fix is easy
and several company's and at least one individual (forgot who) on this list
can do it. Basically it consists of new or modified throttle shafts and
bushings put into the carb body to restore the clearance and end the vacuum
leak. If ZT rebuilt them and there's a problem, they shouldn't give you any
flak about fixing the issue. You'll have to send them back though.

Hey everyone, I have an SU carb tuning/rebuild problem. I spent hours
tuning my carbs, but something just wasn't right. I finally found that they
are sucking air where the throttle rod passes through, on either side of the
butterflies on both sides (four leaks in all). Z-Therapy rebuilt the carbs
about a year ago; I'm just now installing them. I'm woried that the
alluminum carb bodies were too worn out to rebuild. Is this a common
problem with rebuilding SUs? Is there a known fix for this (don't say
Solex, I can't afford it)? I haven't contacted Z-Therapy yet. I'm sure
they'll be helpfull, but I'd like to fix this problem without shipping the
carbs back.
