Flat top SU's are a total POS. The Good Lord Himself would be hard put to
make them work properly. Most SU remanufactures won't touch them. The
phrase most often associated with them is "boat anchors".

Sounds like the smog pump. While their contribution to smog control is
arguable, their detriment to engine performance is unchallenged.
