Hi Allen, I took in some of my old lines to an auto store and just fitted
one old end over the new one to confirm I had the correct tread. I then
found a hose place that still would cut and flare the pipe pieces to the
correct length and shape. I have not yet tried fitting any of them. I only
hope they don't leak. I was surprised how few "so called" brake shop
experts totally backed away from this type job. Every one of them seemed
more concerned w/ getting their collective butt into a legal sling. That is
the trouble w/ all these so called brake, tranny, engine etc specialist
franchises. All their experts are 18 years old. I purchased all my new
lines w/ the coil wire wrap. I think this is a great way to protect the
lines from sharp frame edges and flying rocks etc. Best of Luck! Larry.

Subject: Brake lines
To List,
I am in the process (isn't everything we do on these cars a continuing
process?) of replacing my brake lines. I am replacing all the brake lines
(caliper, caliper to hose, hose to switch, swith to m/c). I would like, if
possible, to used the "pre-sized" ones available at auto parts stores, as I
have no brake line tools. First, has anyone used those pre-sized brake
lines and if so, how did it work? What is the size of the brake "nuts" so I
know what to ask for? What length of lines do I need? Any other help
anyone can give me? I've already ordered new brake hoses and have rebuilt
my m/c.
Thanks so much!!
Allen
