Our '67 appears to have a later year rear; the license lights are on the
sides of the plate, which we know is not a '67 feature. The indentation for
the plate has slanted sides as well. We figure the entire rear must have
been replaced at some time; the seam where the rocker panel meets the rear
quarter panel is visible from underneath, and the seam line underneath has a
jag at the weld line, almost as if the rear didn't quite fit. This weld does
NOT continue across the floor pan, only the outer shell part.
We've read that it is not uncommon for Roadsters to have different-year body
panels used for after-market repairs. We'd like to bring the car as close to
original as possible. Is the license plate light issue the only difference
in the rear of a Roadster between '67 and later years, or are there other
differences?
Thanks!
