Hello All,

As many of you may know, I will be having a complete restoration of my 67.5
2000 this Summer. I already have purchased a complete U20 timing set for it.
The last time I checked my existing timing components (from what I could
see) they looked pretty good. Tensioner is not shimmed, teeth on the cam
gear don't look sharp and I never had a rattle the entire time I drove it.

I had not planned to take the engine apart before I delivered it for
restoration. I am not that much of a gear head anyway. However, if any
SoCalROC gear heads want to arrange to meet me at my dad's house (where the
car is now) some upcoming weekend before July I will be happy to donate my
set to anyone who needs it as a template for a repro. I will need it back as
I plan to use it for spares down the road.

I am still looking into making this worth a manufacturer's while. I have
some interest but the proof is in the pudding and I need some help from my
fellow U20 owners. We are in this together and the future of our cars is at
stake. Email off list if interested.

See you on the road!

Andrew Murphy
SoCalROC

Would it be possible to machine the crankshaft, jackshaft and camshaft to
accept a more commonly available set of gears?
