Mike,
Thanks so much for pulling me out of this jam....even the part number,
which the helpful lady would not order without.
I am 99% sure I have the 2L rear end, as it was put in at the same
time as the 5 spd. Its got the tell-tale traction bar mount on
the passanger side. Also aluminum brakes drums, but they could
have come from anywhere over the years. So, I got the 5 spd speedo gear.
I also have another supplier (small time guy, very nice) who agreed to
send me a used very good shape, or new one, for about the same price.
The one he sends will be blue with 18 teeth, so I know it will fit if
the other case is true.
That way I will have two of em, and they could be different. One will
be the correct piece. Im also getting a new speedo cable and assembly.
This weekend tuneup I started 2 months ago is finally starting to come to
an end.
Hot Datsun Tip of the day: If you order something they will send you
their OLD catalog for free.
THanks to everyone for all the help.....spent most of the day surfing
Datsun sites. A great many are just not there on Fridays...and I
hate fax machines.
See ya!...and enjoy ride.

Jim,
If your car has a 2000 rear (3.7) the number is 32703-78100
1600 rear (3.9) is 32703-78103
I have a feeling you need the 1600 gear like I did. Probably the PO never
swapped in the correct gear.
Nismo sells them - 310-538-2610
