I made a brace from some construction galvanized parts bought at Home Depot
and didn't try to weld anything. I used one of the bends in the material for
torsional rigidity. It would require taking the entire dash out to be sure
the welding didn't destroy the interior, and that seemed like a lot of
effort. The bolts through the master cylinder hold the part in place fine.
