Steering box ID

Hi to all,

What is the easiest way to tell if one has an early, or late, type steering
box ?

Which parts are NOT interchangeable between the RHD (mine) and LHD versions
?

The answer to this question, will determine if I stick with what I got, or
do I engineer a conversion to rack and pinion ?
