air injection removal

Hi everyone. I removed my air injection pump(it seized) and I'm trying to 
remove the the air injection rail to the exhaust ports, and the AB valve ports. 
Do I have to remove the rocker cover to unscew the exhaust ports? It's tough 
fitting a wrench in there.  Once everyhting is removed, what size brass plugs 
should I use? The car is  '68 1600. Alvin
