Kelly: Any chance that your temperature gauge is also on the hot side? If so, then I would suspect the regulator that go's to both instruments has shorted out. If not, then is there any chance someone rewired the fuel gauge and skipped the regulator? If neither scenario proves to be the problem then I would say that the only thing left is the gauge.
