Hey fellow listers -
Coming back from the covered bridge run with the great SEROCers, I separated
another tire. This is the second set I separated in two years.
Now I need new tires and my lovely wife said "NO - you abuse them doing
those 180's".
Back ground info. The first set was 8 years old and the cheapest things I
could find. They still had good tread, but old as the hills. The second
set are the tires I got with the Empi rims. These are retreads on Michelin
carcasses. Both separations were on the rear.
So, is my most lovely wife correct - do the 180 had brake turns cause tires
to separate? My stance is that these sets of tires were garbage anyway and
a good set would last much longer - even with the 180's.
I REALLY need new tires before Road Atlanta next month - I guess I will
start the begging process.......
You all have a great day!
Phil
