Just a reminder to you Dallas area roadster people. We will have a
get-together at Pennington Field in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD at 10:00 AM
Saturday, February 23. The stadium (HEB) is on Central Drive just West of
the intersection of 183 and 121. You can see it from the highway. Andy and I
will be there, then leave for lunch about 11:30 . There is a swap meet in
Decatur that we are going to attend Saturday afternoon, and you are invited
to come with us. Decatur is about an hour North and West of where we are
meeting.
Andy and I went autocrossing this past weekend. He did not have his slicks
mounted, so he used the old tires from last year. He moved up to EP from
CSP. His times were in the 78-79 range, and the best time for the autocross
was around 76, so he was very competetive. My times in the BMW were in the
mid 80's, but I ran with a flat front tire in my runs, and pushed a bit.
My competition ran in the 90's so I feel good about my setup. Andy will
have his slicks ready for March 17, when we compete again. We both won our
class, and have a good start on the year-end trophies. There were several
cars running street tires. Some of you in stock roadsters would have a good
time doing that, and would even have a chance for a trophy. Andy's car
looks and sounds very cool going around the course, and you could have the
same experience with your roadster.
