I've seen somewhere that they use Diesel engines in them
and many of them are too far gone by now. The funny thing
is that the old 50's US-cars last longer than the Russian Lada
cars they later tried to replace them with. If you want to
see more about Cuba I can recommend the BBC series where
Michael Palin (of Monty Python fame) follow the trails of Ernest
Hemmingway. Cuba today is a government controlled tourist
trap AFAIK but they make damn good cigars.
