Hello All,
I recently heard from this gentleman concerning his 1968 2000 that has been
sitting in his garage for 20 years. He has only recently started to bring it
back to life. He sent me an email from the SoCalROC site asking about what
sounded like death rattle so I told him that as an immediate measure he
could shim his upper tensioner.
He is asking for help and so I have turned him towards the list in the hopes
he will get the information and help he needs to get his car back on the
road.
For the SoCalROC crowd that lives near Rosemead, it would be nice if we
could arrange to swing by and check out his car.
Let's get another car back on the road where it belongs!

Hi Andrew,
This is Al Trivison. I took your advice and shimmed the upper tensioner and
that seems to have helped. Do you know if there is someone in SoCALRoc with
experience with the U20 SU engine who would be willing to take a look and
listen to the engine and give me an opinion of the condition? The car isn't
drivable yet; no hydraulics - brake or clutch. I live in Rosemead which is
about 12 miles east of L.A. next to San Gabriel.
Thanks Al
