You may need to adjust them. 180 degrees off from the wheel cylinder
is the adjuster, which can be turned from the back with an open-end
1/4" wrench. It turns a square bolt that adjusts the shoes closer or
further from the drum.
Give that a try and see if the drums will go back on.
