Since the wheel is basically plastic, any repairs will leave obvious signs.
My own 67.5 steering wheel has several gouges on it. The best answer I have
seen is on Jon Frampton's awesome 67.5 1600. He too had dings on his wheel
and he basically had it professionally covered and stitched. It looks great.
I am going with an EMPI steering wheel on my restoration or I would do it
that way.
