Adam,
Thanks for the free advertisement! An observation I had regarding the
removeable windshield, while yes, there are a handful of bolts to remove it, it
is not as a Jeep where the thing just flips down or is taken out. There is
some weatherstripping between the windshield frame and the body, something that
I believe would have to be re-glued and fitted each time the windshield is
removed. While the windshields are much easier to work with than the later
models, I don't think you can take it off on a whim, especially if you want to
use it as a driver. As I have only worked on my car, I'm sure a good number of
you out there have a better idea as to what it takes to play with the
windshield.
That being said, I suppose such a feature would be considered very nice for
those who raced the cars. Also, if you look at the older spl211,212,213's,
their windshields look even easier to get on/off the car.

The early roadsters (including 67.5) have bolt-on windshield frames.
The frames themselves are in multiple pieces and disassemble. I
believe there are six (maybe seven) bolts that hold the whole thing to
the car - two on each "arm" that reaches down into the doorwell, and
two (or three?) nuts under the dash (not including the nut behind the
wheel).
Here's a picture of my old car pretty well disassembled, thanks to its
current owner, Ryan Bird:

Here's a picture of it, post-paint, but sans window frame. Can you
believe it's the same car???

Hope you don't mind that I used your pics as an example, Ryan...
