Thanks! And yes Dennis did recommend Hammerite also. Very good idea!
I have a thought after reading this great reply to my question. As I
proceed though my work on the custom and ask the list a bizzion questions, I
thought I might print the replies out and make a "book" of all the good
ideas on restoring a Roadster. And add how I dealt with each issue. If
nothing else I could look back and say "I should have listened to him"!

Phillip, the two-tone issue aside, I recommend painting with Hammerite. The
stuff is as tough as nails and helps prevent rust from coming back. I agree
that
it is lots easier to see when the interior is lighter, but with a good
quality
glossy paint it shouldn't make all that much difference. Hammerite has a
light
and a dark silver metallic. The dark would be dark enough to pass without
raising too many eyebrows but would make the interior a bit lighter. BTW if
you
do elect to use Hammerite, it is best used on bare metal and you should
strip
off the primer first. Not only will the primer tend to encourage rust, it
also
will not stick nearly as well as the Hammerite. Les uses Hammerite for the
interior in most of his restos. If you do want to stick with one color
overall,
Hammerite does make a black too.
