It seems like a lot of you have interest or knowledge in the
Miata, which I have always liked. If anybody is interested, my sister is
selling here 1990 Miata and believes it's only worth around $5,000 or so,
which kind of shocked me. It has 32,000 miles on it, and she is the
second owner, having purchased it at 13,000 miles five years ago. It has
new tires and a new clutch. The car is located in Portland, OR and is in
perfect condition.
Now the question part. You may recall I'm painfully considering
selling my 69 2000 to pay off bills. I hoped to get something more than
$5,000 for it, in fact would like closer to $7,500. I couldn't believe
that her perfect Miata by comparison was worth only $5,000. Is that due
to the shear numbers of them produced and available? Hers is the standard
model. What kind of desireable options did they have on "other" models?
Is there only one Miata engine? Has it undergone any significant changes
since it was rolled out? Are they EFI or carberated? Are there any
"marquee" models or model years? My thought is if I could actually get
$7,500 for mine, I could potentially buy her Miata and free up a couple
thousand bucks and still have a ragtop. Would pain me to do it, but its
better than having nothing at all.
P.S. If anybody is interested in my 69 2000, I finally have some decent
photos I can email you. Let me know.
