I used dot 5 fluid in my car, I had all new brake accessories and it may be
expensive initially, but your brake cylinder's will last longer as water
condensation will be minimized and will prevent rust corrosion in the
cylinders. They will stay cooler when you are using them frequenty as the
boiling point is higher. In all a better type of fluid to use, Your
stainless steel brake lines should be cleaned, you can do this by running
alcohol through them and then blowing them out with an air compressor
nozzle, do this several times to clean your system, finally blow them out
with an air nozzle till dry, then you are ready to prime with your dot 5
fluid. Also at this time check the front stainless lines by the rotor for
corrosion, the old style had a plastic lining which caused water to become
trapped underneath the plastic and if you developed a leak from a hole your
car will have some difficulty stopping. Most vendors carry new ones and it
isn't a bad idea to replace these, its cheaper than having to fix your
roadster from failure to stop. And like Mike said, if you're gonna do this
also replace your master cylinder's.
Good luck
