All,
I remember a while ago there was a car listed on an auction site where the
car reached reserve price but the owner reneged and tried to list the car
again. After several list memebers saw this, they contacted the auction site
and complained and the auction was pulled.
Well, I don't know if you saw it but there was a pretty nice looking 69 2000
for sale on ebay. Interior looked pretty good and it had a nice metallic
green paint job and the engine compartment looked good as well.
I put in a bid when it was low, but I knew it would go higher. It got to 3k,
and that was the reserve price. It seemed to me to be an awfully good price
for a nice looking 69 2000.
Well, today I get a notice from ebay saying the auction had ended early
because the "item had been either lost or broken". Sounds to me like the guy
figured he set the reserve too low and wanted to get more money. If this car
comes up for sale on ebay or any other auction site, watch out!
I just can't get over people who do this kind of thing. If you offer an item
for auction and you set the reserve price, live up to your arrangement!
