I lost my lights one night in my 66.
If it is a late model car, it is unlikely that it is the headlight fuse
as there are one for each side. I'm sure it could happen, but it is
doubtful that both fuses would blow.
At any rate in my 66 it turned out that my headlight relay failed.
luck was in my favor and I had another relay in the car.
put it in and off I was with lights again.
The moral of the tale?... could be your relay, or relay connections
worth checking.
