HI All,
Here is an old question I sent out a week or two ago and a new one.
1. I am in the market for a new Datsun Roadster. Since mine was stolen and has
not been recovered yet (5+ weeks later), and the insurance company is about to
settle. I would like to find a car to bring home to my empty garage.
What I am looking for is: A solid 1966 1600 through 1967.5 1600. If it is not
running that is okay (I have a newly rebuilt engine that I was about to put in
my other roadster). Body strait, with little to no previous accident damage,
and very little rust. (I know that some of this is a long shot but I can
dream). Paint do not really car what color. All crome present would be nice as
well as working gauges. The interior what ever it comes with mostly stock would
be nice.
I have seen pictures of a Sora blue 1966 1600 RHD that was at Shasta in 1997
http://members.tripod.com/~Adam_Bradley/rhd.html (Thanks Adam) I have also
heard it was for sale, and was not sold at Shasta that year and am wondering if
anyone knows anything about this car, location, condition, if it is still for
sale or if it has been sold
I am also going to write up a what to do document for everyone on what you
should do when your car is stolen and what you should have done before it was
stolen and how to deal with the insurance company when they offer you a very
small $$$ for your car. I am currently going through all of the above and it
plain old sucks and is many hours of work. I will send out installments of
things that happend and what to do over the next week or two.
Question 2:
I have purchased a 1972 240Z for my new everyday driver (since my roadster is
gone :-( I am looking to be getting some upgrades for this car and am in need
of recomedations of place to get parts. I know some of you own Z's some don't
any info would be helpful. items for improvement : Exhaust, shocks, springs,
sway bars, all the rubber bushings in suspension, and any thing else that will
make this great car even better to drive. Things already done, rebuilt carbs,
new plugs, MSD ignition, new wheels and tires.
Thanks Everyone,
I also had a great time at Shasta, granted it was short (showed up 2:30am sat
and left later sat afternoon) It was nice seeing all of the gorgious
roadsters and their great owners made me miss mine.
Eric
