Andrew,
The 510 folks in SD do an annual Palomar Run (I think). You might want to
contact Sebastian Hill < sahill@qualcomm.com>, who publishes the Dime
Quarterly and see if you folks might want to coordinate something.
And you're definitely right about the drive up Palomar Mountain being
very enjoyable. Do it twice, though. Once pushing it, then another time
to enjoy the scenery. We camped one weekend at the National Forest camp
ground, just below the Observatory, and then snuck into the state
campground facilities for showers. Either place would be good for a
gathering.
BTW, here's a post that Sebastian sent earlier about a 510 gathering in
SD this evening. I'm sure they'd be glad to see roadsters there, too. We
had a small gathering here last weekend. We've found that fighting
Mother's Day for scheduling is a losing proposition.
>San Diego 510 day get together! -- Here are the details for this year's 510
>day get together: Meet at Dave Turner Motorsports at 5:10pm. We'll shoot
>the breeze and check our Dave's shop for an hour or so then head over to
>Fuddruckers in Mira Mesa at 6:15-6:30 timeframe. They'll be plenty of
>parking space at both locations so we can all park together. After Dinner
>we can cruise out to the beach area or whatever... Or we can spend all
>evening bench racing. I'm up for suggestions on any other activities. We
>could also go to the Family Fun center after dinner and go kart racing?
