Tom Walter has some red/green LED modules that he bought in Dallas last week.
They have about 16 LEDs of each color. With just the reds running the module
was only slightly warm. It drew 50 Ma. at 16V. I didn't have my photo light
meter with me to compare their light output to that of a filament tail light,
but I would guess that the LED output was a bit less than the filament tail
light bulb. One other thing to consider is that a LED has a built in lens,
so most of the light is output in one direction, while a filament bulb has
a much wider output angle.
