My '69 1600 SPL311-24529 came with finned aluminum drums as original
equipment. I don't know if all 1600's came that way, or if they switched at
some point. Also, according to the Rising Sun Racing catalog, the switch to
recirculating ball steering boxes came around SPL311-25000. I can confirm
that my car has the old style steering box.
