Got a set of tires for wifes 94 Dodge Caravan. Told
tire rack guy I wanted good all weather performance,
especially in rain, not much snow. Long, long milage,
and low price, although not lowest. I also wanted
(in typical Jim Cawrse fashion) to move up in size
a little, from 205X70X15 to around 215X65X15.
He started with $72 Pirellis, and we moved
south in price. The third tire he recomended
was Dunlop D65-T-Touring, 80Kmile treadwear,
and good performance in Consumer Reports
Test (which told me right away not a performance
tire, but probably exactly what I needed).
Price was $60 each. After scouting all the
tire stores, no one in this part of Virginia
could come withen $10 per tire, (including
tax, shipping for tire rack, mounting, etc)
and most were not nearly as knowlegeable,
trying to sell me what they had, etc.
Tires were sitting in my driveway 2 days
after ordered. So, Tire Rack has done
me good 2 times now, thought I would
let the list know.
Best Regards,
Jim C.
