Okay, Craig, tell them the whole story on the brakes. The outside of the
caliper bridge had been ground down so far that the bolt hole for the pad
retaining clip was gone! I had visions of Craig jumping on the brakes
sometime and the caliper bridge splitting down the middle. Not a pleasant
thought.
BTW, Craig didn't do this, it was a PPO, so don't think I'm dissing him.
I've also seen a roadster with 1" spacers on the front to mount 13" wheels,
but that sure isn't a recommended approach, either. It screws with the
suspension geometry (think about scrub radius) and puts a big load on the
wheel bearings. The front rotors on a roadster are quite large for a car
that size. They are 11.2" diameter. The Z rotors are only 10.7".

Subject: part #'s and 13" wheels
I'm pretty new to the list so bare with me I have not
had the pleasure of reading topics that have been beat
to death. If I post something that is "OLD" news feel
free to e-mail me privately so as not to bore the rest
of the list with 2 weeks of rehash.
Having said that I thought some of you might want the
part number for a FACTORY nissan GEAR REDUCTION
starter that works on the roadster, I'm told there is
a 'KIT' being offered so I'm sure I telling "Trade
Secrets".
part#23300-K9160 I paid $175 this is a NEW NISSAN
GEAR REDUCTION STARTER. $50 less if you get the
FACTORY NISSAN REFURB. You must get this from a NISSAN
FORKLIFT dealer, your normal car parts dealer cant get
it, or so I'm told.
Also read only part of some thread about "THERE IS NO
WAY" you can run 13" wheels on a roadster, Well I'm
here to tell you, When I bought my car it had 13x7
libras on it. If this was already addressed then
please disregard.
