Hey all!
Is it cold enought yet?! Under the inspiration of all you cold weather,
long-haul roadsterites, I took one last topless roadster ride two Saturdays
ago. My original objective was to top off the gas tank and add fuel
stabilizer, but with 10 degree temps and a much colder windchill, the new
objective quickly became clear-survival.<g> I got one thumbs up, but the
rest were looks of stark amazement.
On to my topic-Is anyone familiar with any decent tech sites that shows how
to make your own fiberglass parts? My car (67 2L conversion) is without an
airfilter. I'm not going to dolly out the inner fender and scuff the new
paint to make the stock filter work. Instead I may build a cold air box,
also using the stock filter housing baseplate (to take advantage of
airhorns). I've had a little experience with fiberglass but have never
used/built molds. Any thoughts?
I know it would be MUCH easier to bolt on a set of aftermarket K&N SU
filter assemblies. Before I fully commit to building an airbox, does anyone
have a used set of K&N's they would want to sell? The only major draw back
I see with the K&N assemblies is having to fit them with airhorns.
Stay warm out there! (no witty comments from the Golden State please <g>)
