Hi list,
After many days of trying to get the best performance out of my stock
needle, I gave Dean a call. He told me that the stock N17 needls tend to give
you a flat spot at around 5000-6000 rpms. He suggested another set with a
different profile and a tad shorter. These are N25 I purchased a pair from
him for about the same price as the stock ones. They do seem to pick up the
mid to top end performance, although I can't quite get the clean idle that I
want. These might be the ones normally run with the air injection on later
cars since the mixture tends to lean out. I'm running a stock 2000 and I'm
pretty satisfied, and won't go back to the N17.
Give Dean Apostle at Fairlady Products a call. Hope this helps someone.
